Weekend Giveaway: Veggie Tales "Little Drummer Boy" (5 winners)

Veggie Tales recently released its brand new Christmas DVD:The Little Drummer Boy. And in true Veggie fashion, this pic does non disappoint. In fact, I would be a little embarrassed to admit how many times we accept watched this movie this week (I've been sick, and so we've watched more Tv than normal). The boys absolutely Beloved this moving picture!

The flick starts with Inferior Asparagus drumming around on a pot while with his Grandpa. He's waiting for his friends to choice him upwards to go caroling and they don't come (really they did, but neither he nor his granddaddy heard the doorbell). So Pa tells him the story of the Petty Drummer Boy.

Plainly, the story of the Little Drummer Boy is fictional and is not found in the Bible (every bit is stated in the movie so fifty-fifty children sympathise this). But it is inspired by the story of Christ's birth. I read an interview with Mike Nawrocki over at Impress Your Kids where he stated that they decided early on that they would never portray Jesus equally a vegetable equally not be irreverent. He goes on to say,

" The Footling Drummer Boy gave u.s.a. a wonderful opportunity for us to tell the story of the first Christmas with its bulletin of love, promise and forgiveness in a fashion that really worked for VeggieTales. We see through the eyes of Aaron, the fictional Fiddling Drummer Male child, how healing and forgiveness can be establish because of God'due south gift to u.s.."

But regardless of the fact that the story is fictional (every bit are several other Veggie Tales movies), we can still learn some great lessons from this picture. The first being that God can heal our broken hearts. Aaron, the Piddling Drummer Male child, lost his parents in this flick and became aroused and calloused at the world because of his loss. It wasn't until he saw the miracle of the Baby Jesus that he found healing. The 2d lesson from this movie is that no gift is too small in God'southward optics. Aaron was in the company of the Wise Men for office of the picture show. The gold, frankincense, and myrrh were extremely valuable in their fourth dimension and were gifts fit for a King. Yet Aaron'south souvenir of his drum was as as wonderful considering it was all he had! God honors our gifts, especially when they are brought with a pure centre, no matter how large or small.

My only complaint is that this Veggie Tales movie didn't include the introduction and wrap-up with Bob and Larry. Nosotros missed that part and fifty-fifty Big Blood brother noticed its absenteeism! Veggie Tales, please bring this part back in your coming movies! :)

We also received  the O Holy Nighttime CD with some beautiful and amazing songs by Steven Curtis Chapman, Wynonna Judd, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Amy Grant, and Matthew Due west!
